TLM1010: Technical Communication 1  AY2020/21 Post Module Reflection Done by: Marc Chan Student ID: 2002544 Over the past 3 months, I've learnt not only learned about how to properly research and write a report, a summary, I've also learnt about how to work together with a team to conduct a presentation. These skills are especially valuable to me as I had forgotten most of these skills after 2 years of National Service. I understand the value of research, presentation and writing skills as I've had the pleasure of studying a similar module in my previous, institution, Singapore Polytechnic. Over the time I've spent in both of these courses, I've come to realize the importance of such skills not only to my future career, but to my daily life as well.  Basically, the true value of the course lies not in the learning and application of methods of good writing and presentation, but in the unspoken emphasis on the importance of critical thinking skills.     Product Summary & Analysis: Samsung A51 Done by Chan Jun Wei Marc  (Student ID: 2002544) According to a recent review on PCMag (2020), the Samsung A51 phone is Samsung’s latest offering in its mid-range series of smartphones. The article claims that the A51 offers decent performance and aesthetically pleasing design. Furthermore, the article lists a decent set of cameras and a brilliant display for an affordable price as the phone’s main appeal. Priced at $399.99 USD, it is meant as a direct competitor for Apple’s similarly priced iPhone SE, as well as an alternative to Samsung’s more expensive flagship S series of smartphones. Winkleman (2020) further elaborates on the basic functions of the phone. Assignment 1, Submission 1- Introductory Letter

Dear Professor Blackstone, I am Marc Chan from TLM1010, Trimester 1, class of 2020/21. I wish to introduce myself properly as I didn't feel I did so during our first lesson. I graduated from Singapore Polytechnic with a Diploma in Electrical and Electronics Engineering in 2018, building upon a Higher NITEC Diploma from ITE I earned a few years prior. I found my way into Telematics, drawn by the theory of inter-machine communication that is in its definition, especially to the question as to how to achieve the art and science of effective communication between participants in the network, be they human or machine.  The question as to how to communicate effectively has been plaguing me for years, long before I've learned of Telematics. I was a Dog Handler during my time in the Army, and in order to effectively utilize our Dogs, I had to correctly interpret their emotional and physical state.
